5 out of 5 starsWhilst not exactly expensive compared to most of the instruments I've accumulated, this small panpipe is amazingly good fun. The limited range of five notes is sufficient for some early traditional tunes, especially with a bit of creative editing where necessary. Looking forward to pulling this out from a top pocket during a session to play something like the 'Bear Dance'. If you want something robust, simple and highly portable then this could be it - especially if you play at period and traditional events.

5 out of 5 starsItem delivered on time, exactly as described. Wood sure is nicely sanded and feels smooth on your lips. Once you get a feel for how you have to hold it and blow into it, it produces very clear sound. And possibly i am still not doing it exactly right, so who knows. It's my first flute ever, so that may explain why i couldn't get a sound in the beginning. Seller also left a paper with tips on using it, and some background information on the history of the flute. String is nice and will go well with 9th century clothing. I would reccomend this seller. Seller also kept me updated, which i found very pleasant
Making the things we couldn't buy!

Shop policies
We ourselves live a low impact lifestyle in caravans and a narrowboat and try to ensure our products have a minimal environmental impact wherever possible. This extends to the use of natural plant based wood stains and finishing with oils rather than chemical varnishes wherever possible.
We are fascinated by the ancient music and instruments of Northern Europe and hope to provide reasonably priced playable instruments for musicians and reenactors.
We also run a programme of instrument making and playing workshops, so get in touch and join our mailing list if you are in the UK.

Note that we can only estimate delivery times, as these vary wildly from country to country and at different times of year. Items may be held up in customs and we cannot be liable for any losses incurred as part of customs processes. We endeavour to ensure that packages conform with import/export restrictions, but it is up to the customer to understand the laws and regulations applying to their own jurisdictions and not order goods which cannot be legally imported into their country.
Customers should be aware they may be liable to pay import duties or customs charges or handling charges, and we are not responsible for predicting or paying these charges.
We endeavour to deliver products as fast as possible, but we are only part time craftspeople who both work other jobs (as a school music teacher and an educator in a museum) and so sometimes things take a little longer than we'd like. We endeavour to despatch goods within 28 days of receiving your order. If you require an item urgently, please get in touch BEFORE placing your order.
Important: Please note that any orders sent out that are returned to us as undelivered for whatever reason (e.g. requiring a signature, recipient not at home or address incorrect) will be returned to stock and refunded. The original postage cost will not be refunded in these cases.)
It is difficult to work out what an item will cost to ship given the variety of postage charges around the world and the potential weight of packaging, changes in courier charge schedules and the weight of items made to order which may not be known when the order os placed. Should the postage to you be more than we estimated when we listed the item, we reserve the right to request additional postage be paid and/or the right to cancel the transaction and refund your payments.
Many thanks.
